Babies and Toddlers


Starfish classes are designed with child developmental milestones in mind. The focus is on developing familiarity and independence in the water. Water safety skills are a priority, while also introducing the essential foundations of the swimming strokes such as floating and kicking.


1:6 with caregiver in the water 

3 months - 3 years

Toddlers and Learners


Tadpole is the first level without a caregiver in the water. We do have options for some tadpole classes for parents hop in the water to assist if required, with the aim of engaging children in lessons with their teacher independently. We continue to focus on water safety skills and introducing the foundations of swimming freestyle and backstroke. Caps and goggles are introduced.


1:3 - 1:4 caregiver optional in silver level only 

2 years - 6 years

Dory Fish

Toddlers to Junior Primary


Dory classes continue to develop the foundations of freestyle and backstroke technique. Children by now have developed some basic water safety skills and we extend on this area with a focus on survival skills, however the primary objective of this level is to continue developing good swimming technique. In the gold level, breastroke is introduced.


1:4 - 1:5 no caregiver assistance 

3 years - 7 years

Turtle

Junior to Senior Primary


Turtle classes support children in developing and extending their freestyle and backstroke skills. The objective is to refine technique and progress to independent swimming of these strokes with less reliance on teachers and kickboards. This level is also an extends on breaststroke and begins to introduce butterfly. Tumbleturns are also a focus in this level.


1:5, no caregiver assistance 

5 years - 10 years

Junior Squad

Junior Squad

Senior Primary+


Junior squad is our final learn to swim level and supports children in developing more independent swimming and the skills required to swim at a squad level. The teacher is out of the water and children swim in the 25m pool. Correction of technique in freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke is a primary focus while children must maintain their skills for longer distances. Butterfly is further introduced, along with other swimming skills such as diving, streamlining and tumble turns.


Ratio depends on lane availability, with teacher out of the water 5 years - 12 years+
